MCR’s Gerard Way Goes Blond, Mikey Goes Black
A little part of me just died.
According to reports (and pictures) it appears as though Gerard Way, the striking frontman of My Chemical Romance, has shorn his long dark locks and made way for a blond ‘do (below). (NOTE: I’m not sure where this photo came from, so this very well may be an old photo…you tell me.)
I know this shouldn’t upset me at all, but it does. I mean he’s going to have to buy all new eye makeup to go with his new haircolor. Everyone knows that blonds and brunettes look better in different colors. Gerard, you’re no longer a “cool” you’re a “warm”.
Speaking of hair color changes, the kids are also abuzz with formerly blond brother Mikey Way’s new Brendon Urie/ old skool Brandon Flowers look:
The general consensus is Gerard = downgrade, Mikey = upgrade. Your thoughts?
Well you know what they say, brothers who dye together…uh…ok there’s no saying that starts that way.

In “real” news, Gerard told AOL Music that the new album will be “more dramatic, way more theatrical” than their last record, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. How is that even possible? Are there going to be bloodied vampires jumping out and biting me when I open the CD case or something? I cannot WAIT to find out!

I heard that there’s some kind of superstition that says if musicians do something to dramatically change their look while they are recording then the album they are working on will be a hit. Couldn’t they just stick to the classics, like not washing their socks until the album comes out?
My friend and I are in Port Authority on our Sidekicks (of course) and checked out the Way pictures…agreed on the upgrade/downgrade assessment. If Gerard does the white face make-up, he’ll look albino. And, Mikey now looks like Jonathan Rhys Myers.

I still think Gerard looks good, but I’ve always had a thing for blonds.

I really like Mikey’s change…I think the laser eye surgery was a good move for him. Gerard’s look will take a little more time to get used to but I think Gerard could pull anything off.

When I first saw the picture of Gerard,I was pretty shocked, but I’m sure we’ll all get used to it…maybe. But it obviously doesn’t affect the music or anything so I don’t see why it’s such a big deal, it’s his hair and he’s alowed to do with it what he wants. I Was kinda upset when I saw Mikey though, because I have recently discovered that with a hat and glasses,my little brother looks just like him…well apart from the hair,he bleached it blonde andis now claiming that Gerard is copying him =/

yeah, i heard about it first today on myspace and decided i needed more proof. the initial shock has worn off but i’m still not very happy. i luv G but i hope this look is temporary and by next album he’ll go back to his sexy black hair, he just isnt Gerard without the dark hair, it adds to his darkness, he needs it.

just got Kerrang! with an ‘exclusive interview’ with MCR…gerard way is blonde and mikey is darker than before. it’s recent, for their new album…coming out next year. damn it, gerard was so much hotter before! but mikey is better looking without the dodgy glasses/sideburn combo…he looked like chicken little then! gonna miss the old gerard, but hey, his music is still the same, his voice hasn’t changed and he’s still as hot as fuck so nevermind. he’s playing at reading music festival on the 28th…got tickets but i can’t go so i’ll have pics from my friends to see what he actually looks like. can’t be that bad! can’t help wishing he’d go back to the old sexy hair again though seeing as he still has dark eyebrows with blonde hair. sexy… if anyone gets this week’s Kerrang! then you’ll see a pic of him full on…looks worse to be honest. anywho, he’s still as hot as ever.

I swear Gerard’s hair was actually a platinum blonde initially, and now i think it’s this. I hope it’s the other way though. Actually, it could be the other way, pretty sure a photo from like a week ago his hair was the platinum colour. I like it more silvery than straight up bleached blonde, cos it gives him more edge. The first photo i seen was this one and i cried, literally. But i’ve seen several others and it’s definitely growing on me. And Mikey. FUCK. Alicia you lucky thing! Man he looks good. It has been a huge leap from ‘Cute little bro’ to ‘Fucking sexy’. Or something to that effect. Bob is also looking fine i must say. Is it just me or did Ray also dye his hair? A darker colour?
