Hairwatch 2007: Lies, Lies, and More Lies. Gerard Way Goes Back to His Roots
Woah! The first post of 2007 is a Hairwatch post. Remember when My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way was all “I’m going to cut off all my hair and dye it blond for The Black Parade album because I want to be more like “The Patient”? And then remember when he showed up to the MTV “Stay Gold” New Year’s Eve performance with newly-dyed BLACK hair? Uh huh.
Discuss the change back to black. Better? Worse? Approving of the darker color, but still miss the length of yesteryear? Was the switch to dark a result of peroxide taking its toll on the health of Gerard’s mop? Or was it a simple maintenance issue?
Anyone else feel confused and a little betrayed? Gerard, stop toying with my emotions! Anyone else think I’m too emotionally invested in Gerard Way’s hair?

It took getting used to the platinum, but it grew on me… I love it back to black, it’s like coming home…

i think it doenst matter waht color he dyes his hair, it doesnt affect his voice at all! I dont think there is a reason to feel betrayed, maybe it was for the sake of his scalp and hair. You do damage your hair everytime you bleach it. I dont think it matters, as long as the music doesn’t change.
Ok, for the record, just let me say that if I hear one more “Back In Black” joke, I’m going to commence with the strangling people. On another note, we’re ALL emotionally invested in Gerard Arthur Way’s hair, so don’t feel bad. The thing that’s impossible about purely loving the music and not the men who make it: let’s face it, a band’s music is going to change. And so is their look. Not noticing wouldn’t really be natural, and as such people are going to talk about it. And some people are going to be upset, because as I said, we’re emotionally invested in Gerard Arthur Way’s hair. In any event. My lame-ass opinion would be YAY FOR NATURAL COLOR GERARD and goodbye Team Blonde Gee; we’ll miss you bitterly.

dark and short i think are the best…they boy is almost 30 now its time he stopped looking like a pre-pube little boy…hes a grown man, and since he cut his hair he’s actually looked that way….as for the color…black compliments his face better and doesnt make him look like Billy Corgan so I’d say the black is definately better…

i luv gerards hair long and dark!! i dont really like his hair short, but its still hot and cute. but seriously, the blond looked a bit white. but i still think he is sooooooo hot and cute and i luv him!! i dont like his hair too long that much, but i still do, cuz it sorta makes it look like he just got outta bed, and i dont gush over his blond hair as much as his black long hair,but the short blond/white hair makes him look like kinda like a different person but, i mean, ive only known about my chemical romance for a short period of time, and i just started luving and obsessing over them, especially gerard, and the first time i saw him was with short blond hair, but who really cares? only a true my chemical romance luver/ gerard luver [both me, sorta(:] would not!!!!!
